Who among you writers doesn't want to reach the top of one of the most coveted rankings? How many succeed? Why do they succeed? If you have lost faith in the likelihood of your success in the writing sector I recommend you read this article. You will be able to get hold of some useful tools for your climbing. You may think that these are the usual banal measures, that you need money to invest, that a high degree of professionalism is necessary. I ask you to temporarily erase these thoughts. If you want, you can find them at the end of the article. To best introduce the discussion, a brief account of my experience is necessary.
Publishing VS Self publishing This article focuses on the field of self-publishing, however I don't want to be classified as the classic character who, after being rejected by all the publishing houses, entrusted himself to the vain hope of self-publishing. I can confirm that I have gained experience in both publishing and self pub. When I began my adventure with writing I knew nothing, neither about Special Data writing nor about publishing. It's only after finishing my first paper work that, as they say, I really went through a lot. In just under two years I have learned a lot. At the beginning there was the usual mistake of sending the text left and right. I only understood later that the goal had to be more targeted. After various disappointments (paid proposals, rejections, missed responses and last-second departures, when the thing seemed to be done), I decided to mediate with publishing houses through a literary agent.
This is some advice I want to give to anyone considering publishing with a publisher: invest in a good literary agent . Shortly thereafter (a few months), other proposals arrived and I ended up accepting one of them. I published with a small-medium publisher, who recommended purchasing a few copies to start a collaboration between author and publisher. During the editorial negotiations I came up with an idea for a book which I decided, due to its very short nature, to publish in ebook form. After less than a month it was already complete. After a couple of days already self-published. After just one month we began to see the first results in terms of sales. On the other hand, with my fresh paper publication everything was slow and nebulous in tracking purchases.
